It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work Salary Range – 31,200.00 – 51,249.00 This position is located at Eastern Region Office, Pitt County, NC. The primary purpose of Administrative Associate II is to assist the Assistant Regional Director and Operation Manager at the Eastern Region Office in Greenville NC. This position is Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences The major duties of this position include document completion, verification, problem identification and resolution; statistical, and/or other record keeping; public contact including receiving and providing information and problem-solving; files maintenance and management; composition, calculation, and determination of an action or compliance; and office equipment operation. Work may require the use of variety of manual or automated office systems. These systems are used to establish, retrieve, verify, research, update and/or authorize processing actions. Must be proficient in the use of all office machines, i.e. electronic typewriter, computer/computer programs, telephone, calculator, fax machine, copier etc. Effectively communicate with other staff and members of the public in verbal and written form and by using existing communication systems to covey and/or obtain information, instruction and direction. Work under occasional stressful conditions in meeting deadlines. Input and comprehend computer generated data. Review completed task to ensure accuracy and integrity of information. Effectively establish, develop and maintain a filing system that allows easy access. This job requires some interaction with offenders, physical effort to include walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, toting/carrying, and normal office-type work.
