• Administering and scoring technical assessments
• Generating candidate reports and benchmarking data for employers
• Improving assessment quality, scoring accuracy, and platform reliability
• Sending assessment-related notifications (invitations, results, reminders)
• Sending basic product updates and marketing emails (with easy opt-out)
• Responding to support requests and communications

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral targeting, or profiling beyond our assessment service.

3. Data Sharing

We take a strict approach to data sharing:

• We do not sell your data. Your personal information is never sold to third parties, data brokers, or any other entity.
• We do not share data with third-party companies for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
• We do not run ads. There are no advertising networks, trackers, or ad-tech integrations on our platform.
• Assessment results are shared only with the employer who invited the candidate to take the assessment.
• Service providers: We work with a limited number of infrastructure and payment providers who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.

Sift is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our infrastructure and data handling practices meet GDPR requirements, including:

• Lawful basis: We process data based on legitimate interest (providing our service) and consent (marketing communications)

We do not send emails on behalf of third parties. We do not share your email address with other companies. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, regular security audits, access controls, and secure infrastructure. Assessment data is stored on GDPR-compliant servers with appropriate physical and technical safeguards.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide our service and meet legal obligations. Assessment data is retained for the duration of the employer's active account. When an account is terminated, personal data is deleted within 90 days unless required by law. You can request early deletion at any time.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the platform to function (authentication, session management). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies that profile users across websites.

9. Children's Privacy

Sift is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
