Finance Professional Services (FPS) Full time, continuing position Base salary will be in the range $95,361 - $102,302 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6) Based at our St Lucia location About This Opportunity The Assistant Finance Partner provides professional project accounting advice and services to senior project leaders across client business units, supporting effective, compliant and transparent financial management of operational and grant-funded projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Grant Holders and Chief Investigators, the role delivers financial analysis, commentary and advice to inform budgeting, forecasting and financial decision-making, while supporting the delivery of high-quality management accounting services under the guidance of senior finance leaders. Key responsibilities will include: Provide project-focused financial advice and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, expenditure management and grant compliance. Apply project accounting tools and processes to monitor expenditure, manage variances and produce accurate financial reporting. Review and support the processing of financial transactions, ensuring operational accounting activities are completed accurately and efficiently. Develop trusted working relationships with project and business unit leaders, acting as a reliable finance partner throughout the project lifecycle. About You We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a client-facing, advisory role. You will be comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders, applying financial policy in practical ways, and contributing to strong financial governance in a complex organisational environment. To be successful in this role, you will have: Degree qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience Experience providing accounting or financial advisory services in a complex, policy-driven environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and provide clear advice Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, expenditure monitoring and variance analysis The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders A strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance The ability to manage priorities effectively while working to agreed timeframes and service standards Progress towards or membership of a relevant professional body (CPA, CA or equivalent) About UQ As part of the UQ community, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world, working together to create a better world.
