As a UX Researcher at Porter, you will play a crucial role in independently leading complex projects from scoping to delivery across one or more product charters. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working closely with Product and Design teams to plan and execute research at various depths and timelines. This involves conducting both in-field and remote research, synthesizing findings, and sharing insights within Porter. - Taking full ownership of research projects, from scoping the right questions to implementing insights. This is not a supported IC role, and you are expected to drive outcomes independently. - Demonstrating experience in contributing to 01 product builds where user needs and problem spaces were undefined, showcasing your ability to handle ambiguity and break down complex problems into structured research plans. - Showcasing strong qualitative depth while also integrating quantitative and analytics inputs into research synthesis. - Defining and leading research projects end-to-end, including scoping, planning, execution, synthesis, and collaboration with Product Managers and Designers. - Understanding business goals deeply to independently scope high-impact studies and deliver actionable insights through clear reports and specific recommendations. Additionally, you will be expected to:
Tailor insight communication for different stakeholder levels and drive product and design decisions through research. - Facilitate workshops, reviews, discovery sessions, and brainstorms regularly. - Utilize AI tools to enhance research workflows and contribute to the D&R brand by sharing learnings internally and engaging with the external research community. - Mentor junior researchers formally within your charter and informally support the team during reviews and ad hoc conversations. Nice to have qualifications include some experience in guiding junior researchers, preferably with a degree in Design, Psychology, or Social Sciences. However, work quality is valued above all. If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact and thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment, Porter is the place for you.
