As a candidate for the role of Technical Documentation and Training Lead in a naval platforms and shipboard equipment environment, you will be responsible for the following key aspects:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise Demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and mechatronic systems used in naval/ship applications. Review, interpret, and validate technical literature, engineering documentation, and technical training aids. Deliver technical training sessions to internal teams, customers, and end-users. - Project Management Manage project deliverables to ensure timely and quality outputs. Oversee team leads, authors, and cross-functional contributors to ensure alignment with project goals. Drive planning, monitoring, and reporting activities across the project lifecycle. Handle internal and external conflicts and escalations with a structured, solution-driven approach. - Team & Stakeholder Management Communicate clearly with peers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Present project updates, technical issues, and mitigations during review meetings and cross-functional discussions. Maintain effective customer communication and engagement, ensuring expectations are clearly understood and addressed. Qualifications:
Technical Skills Strong understanding of mechanical/electrical/electronic systems. Working knowledge of mechatronics and integrated systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Experience in developing or reviewing training material and technical documentation. - Management & Soft Skills Excellent project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary contributors. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution mindset. Confident in handling customer interactions and escalations. Please note that specific qualifications such as a Bachelors/ Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent, certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred but not mandatory, and experience in the naval/defence/maritime domain would be advantageous for this role.
