The Category Lead is responsible for the growth and overall performance of the assigned product category as a separate business unit across our sales channels. This role owns category priorities end-to-end - assortment, supplier direction, pricing logic, conversion, content, and category quality - and works cross-functionally with other teams to drive revenue, margin, availability, and customer experience. Responsibilities:
Own the growth and performance of the assigned product category
Define category priorities and work cross-functionally
Develop and expand the assortment based on market demand, competition, and business priorities
Define which products, brands, and suppliers should be prioritized within the category
Work with the procurement team on supplier priorities, pricing, and supply quality
Monitor competitor assortment, pricing, and market trends
Define category pricing direction together with the pricing team
Analyze category performance through key metrics such as revenue, gross margin, conversion, return rate, availability, and SEO traffic
Identify gaps in assortment, pricing, content, UX, or data quality, and drive improvements
Take ownership of category structure, filters, and overall customer-facing logic together with relevant teams
Work with e-commerce, enrichment, SEO, design, development, procurement, pricing, and other teams
Review customer feedback, returns, and data issues
Contribute to better product and category data quality, including fitment and category structure where relevant
Requirements:
Proven experience in the relevant product category
Proven experience in category management, product management, procurement, buying, or a similar commercial role
Experience in eCommerce, marketplace, retail, or distribution business
Ability to think like a business owner and take responsibility for category results
Very good English language skills are required for working with software and developing solutions
Strong analytical skills and understanding of data-driven decision-making
Good understanding of eCommerce and marketplace logic
Understanding of assortment development, pricing competitiveness, and category growth drivers
Experience in working cross-functionally without direct team ownership
Ability to set clear priorities and push execution across teams
Strong commercial judgment and problem-solving skills
Good Excel skills
Experience with ERP, PIM, BI, Google Analytics, or similar tools is an advantage
