As a Staff Technical Program Manager, you will drive the end-to-end management of our Software Capitalization process, a critical financial guidance that ensures accurate asset capitalization and amortization of feature development costs. Reporting to the Director of FinOps (who reports to CTO), you will bridge Engineering, Product, Finance, Analytics, and Audit teams while maintaining the integrity of our quarterly reporting & compliance requirements. In this role you will put into use your extensive Program Management and Product Operations experience, financial acumen, and your ability to challenge technical & product decisions with sound judgment and process improvement mindset. ### What Will You Do? Primary responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the complete software capitalization process, including quarterly planning, data collection (in collaboration with data analysts), validation, and reporting across engineering and product teams
Partner with Engineering managers, Product managers, and VPs to accurately assess and categorize new feature development costs for capitalization eligibility
Serve as the primary liaison between the engineering organization and finance teams, translating technical feature development into financial capitalization requirements
Collaborate with external auditors and internal audit teams to ensure compliance with accounting, SOX and similar requirements; present findings and validate capitalization decisions during audit cycles
Challenge Engineering and Product teams on feature capitalization decisions with intellectual rigor, ensuring only qualifying features are capitalized and reducing errors in the process
Own the data governance and reporting infrastructure, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of capitalization reports and KPIs
Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements (including leveraging AI solutions where applicable) to reduce manual effort for Engineering managers, Product managers, and Finance teams
Communicate complex financial and technical concepts across both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership and external auditors
Work with global teams, including US-based stakeholders. While this requires evening flexibility for time zone alignment, we offer significant schedule autonomy during CET hours in return. ### What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring? Ideal candidates will have:
5+ years of experience in at least one of: Technical Program Management, Project Management, PMO, or roles in Product Operations / Engineering Operations in large-scale technology company environments (this is a must-have); Enterprise SaaS product company experience would be a big plus
Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving Engineering and Product (prior experience with initiatives involving Finances or in capitalization is a big plus)
Familiarity with SW development methodologies and the ability to understand technical architecture and feature development timelines
Excellent analytical skills and project management capabilities, with demonstrated experience in process design
Track record of driving process improvements and implementing systems (including leveraging AI & automation) to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload
Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences
Proven ability to challenge decisions respectfully and drive alignment across teams with competing interests; comfort pushing back on stakeholders when necessary
An advantage would be - Experience with enterprise financial or operational reporting processes, particularly those involving external auditors or regulatory compliance, and the ability to interpret financial concepts & audit requirements
