You will be joining the India Onshore Legal Entity Controller team at Morgan Stanley as a Director to manage the Equity Division. As part of the Finance Division, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the firm's books and records and contributing to firm-wide risk management and reduction. Your responsibilities will include managing legal entity reporting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, tax filings, and MIS reporting for the legal entities in India. **Key Responsibilities:**
Collaborate with colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
Lead individual and team deliverables and projects
Adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards
Manage month-end closing activities
Analyze account movements and prepare variance commentary
Oversee tax assessments, audits, and regulatory submissions
Coordinate with Accounts Payable on invoicing and tax matters
Prepare statutory financial statements and regulatory submissions
Manage relationships with auditors, consultants, and internal partners
Support development of the LEC function by enabling new products and system enhancements
Maintain key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
**Qualifications Required:**
Chartered Accountant with experience
Strong knowledge of IFRS, Ind AS, US GAAP, Income Tax, and GST
Good communication and analytical skills
Ability to operate independently and provide constructive feedback
Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt
At least 6 years of relevant experience
The role will also involve participation in developing the LEC function in Mumbai by supporting business units in new products, ongoing initiatives, and contributing to the reporting control framework.
