Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (DevOps)

As a seasoned Senior Platform Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for owning complex cloud infrastructure solutions, leading the design, implementation, and management of our GCP-based platform. Your role will involve collaborating closely with developers, operations teams, and security professionals to ensure the platform is robust, future-proof, and aligns with the evolving business needs. **Responsibilities:**

• Lead the design, development, and management of our GCP infrastructure, encompassing compute, storage, networking, and containerization services (Kubernetes Engine). - Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles utilizing tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management. - Develop and deploy comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems using GCP tools such as Cloud Monitoring and Stackdriver to proactively identify and troubleshoot platform issues. - Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and compliance of the platform in line with industry best practices. - Stay informed about the latest GCP offerings and advancements in cloud technologies. - Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. - Optimize platform efficiency and performance to ensure cost-effectiveness. - Document infrastructure design, operational procedures, and best practices. **Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - 10+ years of experience in system administration, DevOps, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years focused on GCP. - Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure on GCP. - In-depth knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Monitoring, and IAM. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Go. - Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. - Familiarity with container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) is advantageous. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities. - Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. - Experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning on GCP. - Knowledge of infrastructure security best practices and security automation on GCP. - Certifications in GCP technologies (e.g., GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect).
