As a Financial Controller NAMER based in Chennai, your role involves supporting entity-level controlling activities across North America. Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining strong balance sheet governance, and effectively coordinating with shared service teams, auditors, and business finance. You play a crucial role in enhancing financial processes, improving close quality, and preparing for audits across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities:
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with Group requirements
Review P&L and Balance Sheet for accuracy and completeness
Monitor critical journal entries and accruals
Review balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts
Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks such as RCX
Identify, escalate, and resolve aged or unusual balances
Drive improvements in reconciliation quality and documentation
Coordinate with auditors for external and internal audits
Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies
Act as a key counterpart to shared service teams (RTR, Tax, etc.)
Monitor service quality, timeliness, and accuracy of deliverables
Support issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide support for complex entities like ERP-specific entities
Act as a backup for critical processes such as banking and reporting coordination
Support intercompany processes and reconciliations
Identify process gaps and propose improvements in closing, reporting, and controls
Support finance transformation initiatives and system implementations
Drive standardization and best practices across NAMER entities
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
610 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or audit
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
Experience in multinational environments and shared service models
Experience working with ERPs such as D365, JD Edwards, Oracle
Strong Excel and financial systems skills (e.g., OneStream is a plus)
