Backend and Infrastructure Engineer - VC backed startup (Munich)

What You Will Do

• Own platform reliability and infrastructure scaling as we grow from pilot sites to hundreds of connected battery systems. - Contribute to data platform architecture – help shape how we ingest, store, and serve time-series data from battery systems and EMS integrations. - Optimize database performance for high-throughput telemetry data at scale. - Design monitoring and alerting logic for system health, timeseries data, and model performance in production. - Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for backend services on AWS. - Work closely with our data science team to bring models into production with a strong focus on robustness and real-world performance. ### What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of experience in backend engineering, infrastructure, or platform roles. - Production AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS). - Strong PostgreSQL skills – query optimization, indexing, performance tuning. - Python backend development (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy preferred). - Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation). - Comfort with SQL for data exploration and pipeline development. Bonus if you are experienced with:

• Time-series databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, or similar)

• MLOps practices – model versioning, experiment tracking, CI/CD for ML pipelines

• Energy sector or IoT experience
