What you'll do Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture. Design Support and Development: Assist in creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings based on defined requirements and standards. Support the development of design solutions for ESCO products such as excavator buckets, loaders, and truck trays. Prepare engineering drawings, work instructions, and documentation ensuring compliance with fabrication, engineering, and welding standards. Basic Engineering Analysis: Perform basic engineering calculations and assist in design validation activities. Support senior engineers in simulation and analysis work (e.g., FEA preparation and interpretation). Document results and maintain design records. Collaboration: Work closely with team members and cross-functional groups including design, manufacturing, and quality. Provide support to fabrication teams by responding to design-related clarifications. Participate in design reviews and team discussions. Continuous Improvement: Develop proficiency in engineering tools, systems, and ESCO processes. Follow established engineering workflows and standards. Identify simple improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives. Role Scope and Success: The role involves daily engagement in design and engineering tasks within a collaborative team of approximately 10 members. Success will be measured by the ability to deliver high-quality design outputs efficiently, support fabrication teams effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement. Travel requirements are minimal, limited to occasional visits to customer and manufacturing sites. What you'll bring Must-haves: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred) Maximum 2 years relevant experience or a fresh graduate Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD software (NX preferred) Familiarity with engineering software and analysis tools such as Agile PLM, Team Center, FEA, and Magma Simulation Nice-to-haves: Registered Mechanical Engineer license or related certification Experience with fabrication drawings and weldment instructions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Why join Weir?
