As a part of OakNorth's Group Finance Controllership team, you will be responsible for the general ledger, accounting, and reporting for various entities including OakNorth in the UK, US, India, Jersey, and Mauritius. Your role will involve participating in financial accounting month-end closing, periodic reporting activities, and supporting business and other teams in India and the UK. **Key Responsibilities:**
Provide regular review and quality assurance of deliverables prepared by direct reports, ensuring continuous upskilling and capability building within the team. - Guide team members through proactive coaching and feedback. - Perform day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, and periodic reporting in accordance with IFRS/Indian GAAP. - Ensure timely and accurate preparation of various Balance Sheet and P&L items, including prepayment accruals, depreciation run, and other month-end entries. - Prepare various reconciliations such as bank, vendor, and general ledger. - Manage intercompany transactions and book related entries in the system. - Handle fixed assets and intangible accounting, including related schedules and physical verification. - Prepare test scenarios and perform testing for system automation projects. - Draft various internal notes/memos for approvals and audit evidence. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities, streamline operations, and enhance the overall control environment. - Participate in the conduct of Statutory & Internal audits for relevant entities. - Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). - Assist in other day-to-day work and ad hoc projects as required. **Qualifications Required:**
Qualified CA/CPA with 8-10 years of prior experience in analytical and accounting skills. - Background in the banking sector is preferred but not restricted. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS-Office applications, with a focus on automation of reporting. - Strong communication (verbal and writing) and interpersonal skills. - Personal characteristics like proactive, flexible, creative, result-driven, responsible, curious, team player, and fast learner. - Hands-on attitude with the ability to understand the big picture. - Experience in operating at scale in a fast-paced organization with a mindset of continuous improvement, process efficiencies, and automation. - Ability to prioritize and manage workflows, multitask, and be self-driven and motivated.
