The Sr. Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming pharmacy claims data into clear, accurate, and actionable insights. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex datasets to help internal partners understand trends, cost drivers, and financial impacts. The analyst collaborates closely with underwriting, analytics, and client-facing teams to ensure high‑quality deliverables that inform pricing strategies and business recommendations. Role and Responsibilities Perform client-specific analyses of pharmacy claims data to support pricing, forecasting, and financial evaluations. Analyze cost and utilization trends, plan performance, and key drivers of pharmacy spend. Deliver accurate, timely analytics and reporting with consistent quality checks and documentation. Partner with stakeholders to understand business questions and present clear, actionable insights. Build and maintain analytic datasets, models, and dashboards that enable data-driven decision making. Collaborate cross-functionally to align analytical assumptions, methods, and findings. Validate data integrity, investigate anomalies, and reconcile results across multiple data sources. Define and track KPIs to monitor pharmacy trend, utilization, and cost performance. Create concise summaries, exhibits, and visualizations for both technical and non-technical audiences. Identify opportunities to automate and improve analytics workflows, tools, and reporting processes. Maintain strong data governance practices, documentation standards, and repeatable analytical methods. Manage version control and organize analytic deliverables to ensure audit-ready, reusable outputs. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data/Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Health Informatics) or equivalent experience. 6+ years of experience in healthcare/pharmacy analytics working with large medical and/or pharmacy claims datasets. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights for technical and non-technical audiences. Advanced SQL and Excel; experience delivering reporting and dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau. Working knowledge of pharmacy claims and benefit concepts (e.g., NDC, days' supply, generic/brand, specialty, eligibility, allowed vs. paid). Experience working in a data warehouse environment and partnering on ETL/data quality processes. Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI and secure data handling in a regulated healthcare environment. Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Analytics, Data Science, Biostatistics) or related advanced training. PBM, payer, or employer consulting experience supporting pricing, forecasting, or trend analysis. Familiarity with statistical and forecasting techniques (e.g., regression, time series, anomaly detection). Experience with data governance/data quality practices and disciplined documentation. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required. Regularly operates in an office or home office setting which involves utilizing a computer, mouse, keyboard, and occasionally operates other standard office equipment, such as printer, copier, phone. Travel may be required by either car or airplane, or a combination of multiple modes of transportation.
