As a Senior Industrial Engineer with our client, a global logistics and supply chain leader in Mumbai, Maharashtra, IN, your role will be crucial in optimizing the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and performance of the supply chain network. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions across warehousing, transportation, and inventory management. Collaboration with operations managers, IT teams, and external partners is essential for success in this position. Key Responsibilities:
Analyze current supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation, to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. - Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement. - Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to model, simulate, and forecast operational performance. - Design and improve warehouse layouts, material flow, and operational procedures. - Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and systems to support supply chain operations. - Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives. - Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish reporting mechanisms to track operational performance. - Collaborate with transportation managers to optimize logistics networks and reduce costs. - Conduct feasibility studies and ROI analyses for proposed operational changes. - Ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry best practices. - Mentor junior industrial engineers and provide technical guidance. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on supply chain and logistics operations. - Proven experience in optimizing warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics. - Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic). - Strong understanding of lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Proficiency in ERP and WMS systems. - Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion. - Experience in a complex, multi-site supply chain environment is highly desirable.
