About the Department The Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, also known as 7 Round Wing, is located in Medical Center North at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, is fast-paced and focused on acute medicine. Acute Care of the Elderly is the specialty of this 22-bed unit, which cares for patients 65 years of age and older. Our population of patients may include patients with any number of co-morbidities, including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal and endocrine medical conditions. Shift: Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am (three 12-hour shifts/week) Shifts rotate throughout the week Note: Set schedules are not available. Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs. All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment. What You Need to Qualify: Required: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following: Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
