Department: SOM KC Cardiovascular Medicine ----- Faculty Position Title: Assistant Professor- Non-invasive Cardiologist Job Family Group: Academic Job Description Summary: The Assistant Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care within their area of specialization, including the management of non-invasive cardiology. In addition, this role actively contributes to the education and training of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, or other trainees, and participates in departmental and divisional academic activities. Job Description: Job Duties Ambulatory management of cardiac patients in the clinic setting. Manage the cardiac patient in the inpatient setting. Interpret non-invasive imaging studies. Provide specialized clinical, educational, and/or research services within area of expertise using current, evidence-based practices and techniques. Deliver comprehensive services across clinical settings, classroom environments, laboratory settings, or a combination thereof. Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams, research groups, academic programs, and institutional partners to support patient care, program development, innovation, and scholarly activity. Contribute to the education, training, and mentorship of learners, including students, trainees, and other designated groups. Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, case conferences, teaching rounds, seminars, and other academic activities as assigned. Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain expertise in their area of specialization, including clinical practice, procedural skills, teaching, and/or research focus. Required Qualifications Certifications: Board certified by ABIM in Internal Medicine. Is or will be board certified in cardiovascular disease by ABIM by January 2028. Work Experience: Completion of a three-year fellowship in cardiology from an accredited institution. Experience in the interpretation of non-invasive imaging studies, including echo and nuclear. Preferred Qualifications Education: Board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, board certified in Echocardiography, board certified in Nuclear Imaging, board certified in Cardiac CT. Work Experience: Experience interpreting Cardiac CT & Cardiac MRI. Skills General clinical cardiology skills.
