About this Position Tax information reporting Responsible for the tax information reporting process for Primerica Inc. and subsidiaries. Responsible for working with our business units and our information reporting software vendor to timely complete the annual processes required for delivery of information reporting returns to our agents and client recipients and relevant governmental authorities. Coordination and process management among the various internal departments critical to the information reporting process. Processing of B-Notice and Backup withholding notices distributed to the various internal departments. Responding to any information requests and notices from taxing authorities. Monitoring federal and state laws, form updates and filing requirements. Tax withholding compliance Responsible for the reporting and deposit of the non-employee withholding taxes for Primerica Inc. and subsidiaries to the federal and various state taxing authorities. Responsible for preparation of all payment remittances and related accounting and reconciliations for amounts deposited. Coordination and process documentation among the various internal departments critical to the reporting process. Responsible for preparation and management of any information requests and notices from taxing authorities. Monitoring federal and state laws, form updates and filing requirements. SOVOS Taxport Tax Information reporting software administration Responsible for SOVOS Taxport software overal administration and processes. Responsible for maintaining the SOVOS information reporting system, data tracking and monitoring for system updates. Responsible of SOVOS Taxport compliance system knowledge and process documentation. Responsible for SOVOS Taxport administration expertise for purposes of business unit support and managing security access. Responsible for communication with SOVOS for assistance with Taxport system errors, updates, and regular maintenance. Responsible for maintaining previously archived years of information reporting returns. Assisting / Crossover Responsibilities - Income tax compliance Assist with the annual income tax return filing processes. Preparation of various internally prepared state income tax returns. Preparation of Form 5471 for the annual federal income tax return. Assisting / Crossover Responsibilities - Excise Tax / Non-Income tax compliance Assist with reporting and depositing withheld amounts for Federal Excise Tax. Input of various accounting entries including GAAP tax provision entries. Blackline certification preparation. Assist with providing queries of accounts for GAAP tax analysis. Assist with receiving and distributing mail for the Tax Department. Salary range between $58K - $61K USD Annual Responsibilities & Qualifications Minimum requirements This role involves responsibility for compliance with tax information reporting requirements for Primerica Inc. and subsidiaries. Administration of the Taxport software, tax withholding compliance, and responsibility for processing deposits and periodic tax reporting for non-employee income tax withholding. The responsibilities are divided across several key areas: Tax information reporting (30%) Tax withholding compliance (25%) SOVOS Taxport tax information reporting and software administration (20%) Income tax compliance (15%) Excise tax / non-income tax compliance / tax accounting assistance (10%) Preferred requirements Knowledge of M.S. Excel required. Knowledge of Workday a plus. Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications or Licenses, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelors degree in Business-related field, Finance, or Accounting is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will be considered as an equivalent qualitification. Candidate with substantial work experience and is proficient with tax related softwares, Microsoft applications (excel, word, outlook, etc.) and general ledger reporting tools will be seriously considered for this role. Ability to read and understand tax forms and instructions preferred.
