You will play a crucial role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the product development team of a high-growth EV infrastructure startup. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the mechanical design of EV chargers using SolidWorks/Creo, focusing on structural integrity and aesthetics. - Researching and selecting materials suitable for harsh environmental exposure (UV, heat, rain) and designing high-performance IP-rated enclosures (IP65/67). - Performing hand calculations and FEA for stress, impact resistance, and bolted joints, and designing Thermal Management Systems to handle high-power electronics. - Managing relationships with vendors for Sheet Metal fabrication, CNC machining, and Injection Molding, overseeing prototype assembly, and conducting rigorous physical testing. - Maintaining detailed BOM, technical drawings, and design reports to ensure compliance with Indian and International safety standards for EV infrastructure. Qualifications and Skills required for this role include:
Education: B.E / B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 5 - 8 years in mechanical design (Electronics, Automotive, or Energy sector preferred). - Technical Mastery: Strong command over Sheet Metal design and fabrication, and expert proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo. - Simulation: Proven experience in FEA and Thermal Simulation tools, and deep understanding of IP-rated enclosure design and DFM/DFA principles. Preferred Skills include familiarity with PCB thermal packaging, prior experience in the EV or Renewable Energy industry, and exposure to automotive environmental testing standards.
