As a Senior Application Support Engineer for D&T Re, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, resilience, and efficiency of the global application landscape. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading Application Support & Service Reliability: Providing leadership within the L2 support function, ensuring timely resolution of complex incidents and service requests. Acting as a senior escalation point for high-priority incidents and critical production issues to ensure end-to-end service stability, availability, and performance of business-critical applications. - Collaborating with Stakeholders: Serving as a trusted partner to business stakeholders and application owners, ensuring alignment with service expectations. Translating technical issues into business impact, enabling informed decision-making. Participating in service reviews, operational governance meetings, and reporting forums to build strong relationships across global teams, vendors, and business units. - Monitoring Performance Metrics: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs. Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and ensuring implementation of long-term fixes. Maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base for operational efficiency. - Enhancing Application Stability: Establishing and enhancing observability practices across applications using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc. Implementing proactive monitoring, intelligent alerting, and event correlation. - Ensuring compliance with data policies and regulations. - Driving Continuous Improvement: Leading continuous improvement initiatives to streamline data processes, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize data quality. Identifying areas for automation and implementing solutions to minimize manual intervention. The ideal candidate for this role will possess extensive experience in managing IT operations for applications across multiple cloud tenants. You should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as this role requires working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders spanning both business and technical partners. A proactive and results-driven approach to problem-solving, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation in data quality and operational processes, is crucial. Qualifications required:
10+ years of experience in application support, IT operations, or production engineering, with expertise in L2 support environments handling business-critical systems. - Ability to lead by influence, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational best practices in globally distributed teams. - Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including managing cloud-native and hybrid environments. - Deep expertise in observability practices and performance monitoring tools. - Experience with scripting and automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. - Preferred qualifications include a Master's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, relevant certifications, experience in financial services or reinsurance, familiarity with SRE and DevOps practices, and knowledge of security and compliance frameworks in enterprise IT.
