General Manager - Logistics & Transport
Key Responsibilities:
- Will oversees end-to-end freight operations, fleet management, and logistics strategy. - Fleet & Transport Operations: Manage the daily dispatch, maintenance, and routing of the transport fleet. - Monitor telematics and vehicle utilization to reduce downtime and fuel consumption. - Supply Chain Integration: Align transport schedules with procurement, warehousing, and sales to maintain a smooth flow of goods. - Implement supply chain best practices to reduce bottlenecks and lead times. - Financial Oversight: Hold complete P&L responsibility for the transport division. Develop departmental budgets, negotiate contracts with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and approve high-value tenders. - Risk & Compliance: Enforce local/international transport laws, driver regulations, and workplace safety guidelines. - Stakeholder Relations: Negotiate contracts with shipping vendors, suppliers, and key corporate clients to optimize service levels. - Oversee Vehicle Maintenance: Overseeing and enforcing strict PM schedules, repair and maintenance budget. - Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor staff, including drivers, mechanics, and logistics coordinators. Desired Profile :
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management
Experience: 18+ years of progressive management experience in transport, supply chain, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in using data-driven fleet management tools to track fuel usage, mileage, and maintenance costs.
