As a Data Entry Accountant in the apparel manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining financial records related to garment production, sourcing, and vendor operations in accounting systems. Your role will involve ensuring accuracy in data entry, supporting bookkeeping tasks, and assisting in preparing financial reports specific to the apparel business. - Enter financial data (invoices, receipts, payments) related to fabric, trims, accessories, and production into accounting software
Maintain and update ledgers, journals, and accounting databases
Verify accuracy of financial data and correct errors
Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements
Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and job work payments
Reconcile bank statements and resolve accounting discrepancies
Maintain proper records of production, purchase, and vendor billing data
Coordinate with production, merchandising, and accounts teams for data accuracy
Strong typing and data entry skills are required for this role. You should have a basic knowledge of accounting principles and possess attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with accounting software such as Tally or Microsoft Excel is essential, and experience in Zoho Books or any ERP/accounting software is preferable. Good organizational and time management skills, basic computer knowledge, and knowledge of apparel manufacturing accounting entries (fabric, trims, job work) will be beneficial. - Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field (preferred)
Diploma or certification in accounting or data entry (optional but helpful)
You should have 23 years of relevant experience in data entry and accounting, with prior experience in accounting or data entry being required.
