Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Axos Business Center, Corp About This Job We are seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures across modern platforms. This role will play a critical part in protecting cloud infrastructure, applications, and data while enabling scalable and secure business operations across multi-cloud and AI-driven environments. Key Responsibilities Design and implement security controls for cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) aligned with industry best practices and compliance standards Assess cloud environments for vulnerabilities, risks, and misconfigurations; recommend and implement remediation strategies Develop and enforce cloud security architecture, policies, standards, and guidance Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and platform teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) Monitor cloud systems for threats using SIEM, CSPM, and cloud-native security tools Lead incident response efforts related to cloud security events and support forensic investigations Automate security processes (e.g., infrastructure as code, security testing, compliance checks) Stay up to date with emerging threats, cloud technologies, and evolving security best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with strong focus on cloud security Hands-on experience securing at least one major cloud platform (Azure, GCP, or AWS); multi-cloud experience preferred Strong understanding of cloud architecture, identity and access management (IAM), networking, and encryption Experience with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks) Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or similar) and automation tools Familiarity with container and Kubernetes security is a plus Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer) Preferred Experience Experience securing AI/ML workloads, data platforms, or modern application architectures Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and cloud-native security solutions Experience with threat modeling and secure software design What Success Looks Like Secure, compliant, and resilient cloud environments Reduced security risks through proactive controls and automation Strong collaboration with engineering teams to embed security into development processes About Axos Born digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
