Core Responsibilities
Workplace Enforcement: Implementing safe systems of work and ensuring all team members and contractors strictly adhere to safety rules. - Inspections & Audits: Conducting routine inspections of the work environment, heavy equipment, and materials to identify and mitigate potential hazards. - Incident Investigation: Leading preliminary investigations into accidents, near-misses, and conflicts, followed by submitting incident reports and suggesting corrective measures. - Safety Training: Leading team-building safety sessions, tool-box talks, and monthly health and safety meetings. - Compliance Management: Ensuring adherence to ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 standards, and national safety codes. Key Qualifications
Education: A diploma or bachelors degree in engineering or industrial safety. - Certifications: Additional safety qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH MS, or state-specific fire and safety certificates are highly preferred. - Key Skills: Hazard identification, risk assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), incident investigation, and emergency response planning.
