As an Additive Manufacturing Engineer at our fast-growing and innovative startup, your primary responsibility will be to lead our in-house rapid prototyping lab and support production tooling needs. You will be the "owner" of our internal 3D printing facility, managing a fleet of FDM and SLA printers to ensure high uptime and professional-grade output. Your role will involve bridging the gap between digital R&D designs and physical, functional prototypes. Key Responsibilities:
Lab & Fleet Management
Operate and maintain a fleet of FDM and SLA 3D printers, ensuring at least 90% uptime. - Perform mechanical repairs and electronic troubleshooting. - Maintain spare parts inventory and track machine performance metrics. - Slicing & Process Optimization
Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Orca Slicer. - Optimize slicing strategies for support generation, part orientation, and multi-part nesting. - Prepare and repair STL files for successful prints. - Material Science & Calibration
Qualify and develop print profiles for various materials. - Execute calibration schedules for dimensional accuracy and flow rate tuning. - Post-Processing & Quality
Perform high-quality finishing and validate dimensions using precision tools. - Ensure prototypes meet functional tolerances. - Documentation
Build and maintain a technical "Internal Wiki" for SOPs, material profiles, and maintenance logs. Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics. - Experience: 3 6 years in a rapid prototyping lab or production 3D printing environment. - Printer Expertise: Proven experience with Large Format FDM and SLA technology. - Software Mastery: Expert knowledge of Orca Slicer is mandatory. - Hands-on Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude for machine repair and post-processing. - Documentation: Ability to create structured technical reports and SOPs. Preferred Skills:
Experience in the EV or Automotive industry. - Basic knowledge of CAD software for mesh repair. - Understanding of DFAM principles.
