Department: Emergency Shift: Primarily Days (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular Per Diem Type (if applicable): Minimum Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.15 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Emergency Department Technician provides technical and clerical support to the nursing and physician staff and is trained and certified in basic cardiac monitoring to provide observation of department cardiac rhythms, reporting changes to the RN staff. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: · Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and/or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required within 6 months of hire, or equivalent education/training/experience as determined by leadership may be accepted in lieu of licensure/certification. · Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required. Knowledge: · Must be able to pass a basic Cardiac Monitoring Class · Knowledge of medical terminology Skills: · Ability to prepare patients for exams and apply simple splints/dressings · Manual dexterity and physical/visual visibility to watch computer monitors for extended periods of time · Ability to provide personal care to patients in a compassionate and caring manner · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Superior customer service skills · Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment · Basic computer skills required. · Ability to function effectively under stress and emergency conditions A NONPROFIT HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IN EL DORADO COUNTY Marshall is a nonprofit community healthcare provider located in the heart of the Sierra Foothills.
