As a Senior Data Governance Specialist at Auxo, your role will involve leading and operationalizing enterprise-scale data governance programs for clients. You will play a hands-on role in designing, implementing, and embedding governance frameworks directly into modern data platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
Define, implement, and operationalize data governance policies, standards, and operating models
Lead data stewardship programs in partnership with business and data owners to drive adoption
Configure and manage governance platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, and Monte Carlo
Build and maintain enterprise data catalogs with metadata, lineage, and discoverability
Design and enforce data quality rules, monitoring frameworks, and remediation workflows
Embed governance controls directly into data pipelines and platforms in collaboration with data engineering teams
Support impact analysis, compliance, and decision-making through strong lineage and metadata practices
To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience in Data Governance
Proficiency in data stewardship and ownership frameworks
Expertise in data lineage and impact analysis
Skill in metadata management and catalog design
Knowledge of data quality dimensions, rules, and monitoring frameworks
Understanding of data classification, access controls, and policy enforcement
Hands-on experience with governance platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, or Monte Carlo
Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, analysis, and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of data engineering fundamentals including ETL/ELT, pipelines, and data modeling
Experience with modern data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based data stacks
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Dataplex) or other major cloud platforms
DAMA CDMP or equivalent data governance certifications
Previous experience working in regulated industries such as Finance or Healthcare
