As a Platform Management specialist, you will be responsible for administering and managing the Power BI service to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security within the organization. Your key responsibilities will include:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Power BI security model, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and user/group permissions for data governance and compliance. - Overseeing the deployment, management, and organization of Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets within the Power BI service. - Configuring and managing Power BI gateways to ensure secure and efficient data connectivity to on-premises data sources. - Monitoring Power BI environment performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies for reports, dashboards, and data refresh processes. - Providing expert-level troubleshooting and technical support for Power BI users, addressing issues related to data connectivity, report rendering, and performance. - Establishing and enforcing best practices for Power BI development, deployment, and usage to contribute to data governance initiatives. - Assisting in planning Power BI capacity and scaling the environment to meet growing business demands. - Utilizing SQL for data preparation, querying, and integration with Power BI datasets. Qualifications required for this role include:
Proficiency in Power BI and Visualization concepts. - Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop. - Expertise in Power BI security model implementation and management. - Proficiency in SQL. - Ability to manage and administer the Power BI service effectively. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for data and platform issues. - Excellent communication skills for collaborating with users and stakeholders.
