Responsibilities of the Role
Perform and review daily cash and security position reconciliations for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Investigate and resolve any cash and security position discrepancies with Prime Brokers, Custodians and Fund Administrators
Review daily reports from custodian and prime brokers for cash management, income, expenses, stock loans and margin requirements to update internal systems and report generation
Set up of security details on internal systems
Monitor, review and process all corporate actions such as dividends, stock splits, spin offs, mergers and all other types on internal systems
Support the proxy voting and class action processes, ensuring client interests are represented and protected. - Perform independent and timely daily oversight of portfolio valuation and performance. Work closely with Fund Administration team to resolve any discrepancies. - Assist with trade instruction process to external parties
Liaise with various parties including fund administrators, custodians, prime brokers, and internal departments
Provide support to other employees as required
Assist with additional projects and tasks as required
The Qualifications and Experience Required
University degree in accounting, finance or equivalent
Minimum 1-3 years of fund accounting experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently as well as within a team environment and assume ownership of responsibilities
Ability to be involved at a detailed level and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), with experience using Bloomberg, Charles River Investment Management Systems (CRIMS), Central Trade Matching platform (CTM) or similar financial systems. - Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a genuine commitment to client service and professional integrity. - A desire to stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, continually expanding your knowledge base. - A collaborative spirit, eager to win as one team, bringing your unique voice while embracing the diverse perspectives of others. - Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required
