Job Description Summary: Role and Major Responsibilities of Position: KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS General maintenance of facility and process equipment. Equipment installations and commissioning. Involvement in Projects. Attending to equipment breakdowns. Problem solving. Safety and housekeeping. Responsibilities: MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE Assemble, install, align, and dismantle mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, compressors, and rotating machinery Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications Carry out precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, dial gauges, vernier calipers, and laser alignment systems Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend effective repair solutions Replace worn or defective parts including bearings, seals, couplings, belts, chains, and shafts Conduct equipment alignment, balancing, and lubrication according to standards Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures Maintain accurate maintenance records and job completion reports Support equipment upgrades, shutdowns, overhauls, and commissioning activities Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and production personnel to minimize downtime Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and well maintained PROJECT AND INSTALLATION WORK: Carry out all modifications as required by the business once the appropriate details, drawings, discussions and approvals for such modifications / alterations to the machinery have been issued. Design, if within the scope of item (1) above and implement any necessary changes to production lines with view to optimizing manufacturing processes, liaising with relevant stakeholders. Carry out the feasibility/cost analysis studies before expediting any modifications or installations and submit these to the Maintenance Manager for evaluation and further approval by the Production / Engineering Manager. Accommodate all changes and modifications to factory premises and ensure that these changes to the facility, equipment / machinery are incorporated into the PM system. If within the scope of item (1) above design and manufacture Electrical/Instrumentation components. (It will not be the norm to design components) Undertake physical installations of equipment. Co-operate fully with consultants and contractors who are working on installations within the factory to ensure that The Coca-Cola Company standards are adhered to. Health, Safety & Compliance: Adherence to all occupational health and safety policies Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Commitment to maintaining a safe and hazard-free work environment Minimum Requirements for Position: (Education, skills, experience, etc.) Completed a relevant Apprenticeship Program with an added advantage in an FMCG Environment Trade Tested and Qualified Mechanical Fitter. +3 years relevant work experience Engineering qualification, preferably a Diploma in Mechanical engineering. Knowledge of the tools, equipment and common materials of trade. Reading and interpretation of manuals and policies. Knowledge of applicable mechanical/electrical codes, standards and regulations. Skill in verbal and written communication.
