About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer. In this role, you will: Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: 5+ years of application development, deployment, maintenance & production support experience 5+ years of Java/J2EE development experience with the following technologies – Core Java, Java EE, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JSP, Servlet, and SOA. 5+ years of experience in working with multiple database systems with strong SQL, PL/SQL skills - with expertise in RDBMS technologies (IBM DB2, Oracle Exadata, MySQL, SQL Server), No-SQL databases (MongoDB). 5+ years of Spring Framework experience – with expertise in Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security. Experience in React/Angular 5+ years of build/deployment experience with expertise in the following build/deployment tools – Ant, maven, Gradle, npm, yarn, webpack, gulp, bower, Git, GitHub, Jenkins CI, uDeploy. 2+ years of experience in SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) development with expertise in the following technologies – SOAP, RESTFul web services. 2+ years of experience in ORM (Object Relational Mapping) technologies with expertise in the following – Hibernate, JPA, Spring Data. 1+ years of experience in testing tools & test automation techniques with experience in the following technologies for both Java & Javascript testing – JUnit, Mockito, Spring Test framework, etc. Experience in GenAI is must. Job Expectations: Design, Develop, test, enhance, implement new/change existing features/functionalities in enterprise level Java/J2EE. Performance tuning of the application SQL & PL/SQL Perform Coding, functional, integration and unit/performance testing Ready to perform production support Ability to lead and facilitate design sessions; ability to develop complex technical design solutions based on design principles. Ability to lead development teams, estimate development work, allocate work, guide team members, providing technical guidance with industry best practices, design patterns, troubleshoot technical issues. Experience with a wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures to multiple applications or a component family Ability to effectively communicate with individuals within all levels of technical and non-technical skills Knowledge and understanding of Agile Knowledge and understanding of all phases of project development and testing lifecycle Posting End Date: 1 Jun 2026 *Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
