This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, with standard hours from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. job purpose: The Maintenance Parts Room Operator, reporting to the Maintenance Supply Supervisor, is responsible for managing and maintaining the Parts Room inventory, ensuring efficient stock control and timely fulfillment of maintenance requests. . The maintenance staff is tasked with the upkeep of buildings and grounds, as well as upkeep of machinery and processing equipment needed to operate and maintain the facility. The Parts Room Operator will be working with the Maintenance personnel to ensure that the team has on hand the materials and components to be successful. responsibilities:
inventory management
Maintain accurate records of all inventory items, including quantities, locations, and expiration dates. - Conduct regular physical inventory counts to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies. - Maintain an efficient inventory control system to track stock movements and reorder levels. - Monitor stock levels and place requests for replenishment as needed. - Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage. - Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials, supplies, and equipment. - Receive, issue, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within the plant. - Properly store and organize inventory items to ensure easy accessibility and prevent damage. - Prepare lists of surplus or obsolete materials. order fulfillment
Review maintenance work orders and issue necessary parts and materials. - Prepare and Kit items for delivery to maintenance technicians. - Maintain a clean and organized Parts Room environment. - Adhere to safety procedures and regulations in all aspects of work. additional responsibilities
Ensure compliance with stockroom and company policies. - Operate hand trucks, carts, and lifting equipment. - Keep storage facilities, loading docks, materials, and supplies in a neat and orderly fashion. - Assist in the preparation of data for departmental reports, inventory or studies. - May drive a vehicle to transport items to and from the plant. - Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, location changes, and refusal of shipments. - Participate in departmental meetings. - Performs housekeeping duties as required. - Any other tasked deemed necessary. skills/qualifications required:
1+ years of experience in inventory management
Possess a valid NY Driver’s License
Clerical skills (including computer skills). - Knowledge of machinery, parts and equipment (preferred). - Organizational skills
Highly service oriented
Understands the need for accurate data and inventory counts
Understands the importance of documentation
Understands the concepts of assess management
Able to identify irregularities in inventory movement
Able to assist in the development of standard procedures
Can perform work without direct supervision (self-starter). - Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Carrying: The operator stands throughout their shift and walks on uneven concrete and tile surfaces. The operator lifts up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 100 pounds. Pushing/Pulling/Bending/Stooping: The operator occasionally pushes/pulls a variety of objects which may include empty pallets, and brooms during cleanup activities. The operator will push/pull pipe-fittings during hook up. The operator bends and stoops occasionally throughout the workday, when servicing equipment, picking supplies or waste product off the floor. Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Turning: The operator may squat when picking up supplies and during cleanup duties, including kneeling on the floor and crawling under equipment. Occasional twisting and turning at the waist while changing dryer lances, or making CIP connections. Climbing/Balancing/Reaching: The operator occasionally climbs approved stairs or ladders. The operator reaches below shoulder level to pick up pipe-fittings from the floor or while servicing product pumps and related equipment. The operator may reach at or above shoulder level when making equipment adjustments, or during cleanup duties. Grasping/Manipulation: Frequent use of the hands and fingers is required of the operator when servicing pumps, using scrub brushes, and connecting pipe-fittings. food safety requirements:
