As the Head/Director - Business Development for the Asia-Pacific Region at a fast-growing clinical research organisation headquartered in Singapore, your role will involve leading the business growth strategy in the region. Your responsibilities will include the following:
**Strategic Leadership**:
Develop and execute a global business development strategy in line with company growth plans. - Define annual sales targets, pipeline strategy, and market expansion priorities. - Identify new service opportunities and geographic growth areas. - Provide strategic inputs to the CEO and leadership team on market trends and competitive positioning. - **Revenue Generation & Client Acquisition**:
Drive new business acquisition across pharma, biotech, medical device, and digital health sponsors. - Lead high-value opportunity pursuits including RFP responses, proposals, and commercial negotiations. - Build strong relationships with global sponsors and decision makers. - Expand key accounts and develop long-term partnership models. - **Team Leadership & Performance Management**:
Lead and manage the business development, Marketing, and Proposal team across India and APAC. - Set performance KPIs and monitor pipeline conversion metrics. - Mentor and develop BD managers and executives. - Collaborate closely with operations, medical, regulatory, and finance teams. - **Partnership Development**:
Establish strategic alliances with global CROs, site networks, and consulting partners. - Represent the company at international conferences, investor meetings, and industry forums. - Support corporate initiatives including strategic investments, joint ventures, and market entry programs. - **Commercial Excellence**:
Drive pricing strategy and profitability targets. - Oversee forecasting, pipeline reporting, and CRM governance. - Ensure proposal quality and competitive positioning. **Qualifications & Experience**:
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in clinical research / CRO Business Development role at the regional or global level. - Proven track record of achieving multi-million-dollar annual sales targets. - Strong network with global biotech and pharmaceutical sponsors. - Experience managing regional or global BD teams. - Deep understanding of clinical development services across phases I-IV. - Experience in Asia-Pacific markets is strongly preferred. - MBA or advanced life sciences degree is preferred. **Key Competencies**:
