As an Embedded Firmware Engineer for low-power mixed-signal integrated circuits, your role involves defining, developing, verifying, and optimizing embedded firmware. You will design functions, sub-systems, and full systems from specification to production support. Additionally, you will implement testability and diagnosis features for hardware testing, generate technical documentation, and lead design reviews. Your key responsibilities will include:
Defining and implementing pre-silicon simulation validation, unit and regression testing, debug, emulation, and FPGA prototyping. Supporting top verification. - Specifying and implementing systems and digital hardware-firmware architectures, analyzing top-level specifications, and optimizing system and firmware designs. You will evaluate CPU/micro-controller selection and memory sizing based on system requirements and constraints. - Supporting silicon lab evaluation, performance characterization, and debug activities. Providing post-silicon customer technical support, RMA analysis, and field issue resolution. - Collaborating with system, digital hardware, analog, verification, and cross-functional teams. - Providing technical support to test, product, and application engineers. Qualifications required for this role include:
10+ years of industry experience in embedded firmware for mixed-signal integrated circuits. - B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering. - Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills. - In-depth knowledge and experience in firmware development for mixed-signal ICs, HW-SW architectures, real-time embedded systems, data path, signal processing, and system trade-offs. - Proficiency in C/C++ and assembly language programming, scripting languages like Python, debugging capabilities, and experience with MCU-based systems. - Experience with bare-metal firmware development, real-time embedded systems, design for test, and testability implementation. - Demonstrated technical leadership, innovation, and experience with standard hardware protocols. Desired qualifications include experience with system/digital design methods & tools, Matlab, SV/Verilog/VHDL, and consumer/ITA market circuit developments. In this role, you are expected to be independent, self-motivated, rigorous, innovative, a team player, and able to follow through. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of system-level aspects such as signal processing, mixed-signal, digital hardware, analog, modeling, test, and application.
