Within Payments & Settlement Services (PSS) we are constantly looking for ways to improve our customer's experience and create efficiencies in the processes. We are looking for a PSS Booking and Settlement Expert, within the Expert Team Cash and Liquidity Management (CLM) of PSS Operations. PSS provides Booking and Settlement Service to Financial Markets (FM), Group Treasury (GT), Lending, and Trade Finance business lines. The Team You will play a key role in global change initiatives, focusing on the design and testing of robust cash booking and settlement solutions. The solution must ensure accurate and timely booking and settlement of all payment-related transactions. In addition, you are responsible for the service management of Booking and Settlement: maintaining up-to-date service documentation for Booking and Settlement, ensuring transparent service performance reporting, and effectively managing service risks and issues. You will identify and gather both functional and non-functional business, architecture and IT requirements, design the to-be booking and settlement process flow in close co-operation with the stakeholders. You will be positioned hierarchically in the COO organizations, being part of the CLM expert team reporting to the CLM service owner. Key responsibilities Design & standardisation: Design, improve, and standardise global end-to-end booking and settlement processes, ensuring alignment with business, product, legal, and control frameworks. Stakeholder management & requirements translation: Engage with business, architecture, and IT stakeholders to capture needs and translate them into clear functional and non-functional requirements. Solution design & analysis: Analyse processes, data, and system flows to define robust booking and settlement solutions and articulate trade-offs to stakeholders. Service management: Maintain service documentation, monitor and report on service performance, and proactively manage risks, issues, and control effectiveness. Change delivery ownership; Drive end-to-end change implementation, from requirements and design through testing and go-live. Testing & validation: Define test scenarios and validate that IT solutions meet business requirements and ensure accurate booking and settlement outcomes. Who are we looking for You bring 5 - 8 years of experience with end-to-end processes related to high-value payments originating from Trade Finance, Lending, or Financial Markets. You have a strong track record in analyzing complex business processes and identifying suitable solutions related to payment booking and settlement. You have a solid understanding of payment booking processes, including nostro, mirror nostro, and internal settlement accounts (ISA). You have in-depth payments domain expertise combined with a solid understanding of system integrations. You are a self-starter and a strong team player, able to take ownership while empowering others to deliver. You excel at delivering change in complex stakeholder environments. You have (international) experience in complex organizations and maintain a strong, holistic view of ING's business processes, risks, and associated controls. You possess excellent communication and advisory skills, with the ability to present effectively across different audiences and seniority levels, both formally and informally. You demonstrate strong analytical, influencing, and continuous learning capabilities. You are professionally skeptical, solution-oriented, and have attention to details. You show emotional resilience and confidence: you adapt quickly to new environments, remain calm, and perform under pressure. You communicate openly and honestly, act as a trusted sparring partner, and actively give and receive constructive feedback. You hold an academic or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
