Engineering Manager I

As a Program Manager for Seating Systems at Lear in Pune, India, your role will involve providing professional leadership to interdisciplinary, intercontinental project teams throughout the entire program lifecycle. You will ensure alignment with Lear's global standards and customer expectations. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the program by ensuring achievement of objectives related to timing, technology, quality, cost, and profitability. - Serving as the central point of contact for the customer, representing Lear in team meetings and steering committees, and managing timing, change management, and technical discussions. - Delivering regular internal and external program status updates in accordance with Lears Program Reporting standards. - Utilizing Lears intranet-based phase gateway system and other project management tools for efficient program execution. - Acting as the central point of contact for Product Development, Process Development, Manufacturing Plants, Sales, and Purchasing. - Leading change management across the supply chain, including timing, commercial, technical aspects, and PLM, ensuring smooth implementation and communication with suppliers, internal teams, and the customer. In terms of qualifications, we are looking for a candidate who possesses:
• A bachelors or masters degree (preferred) in technical and/or commercial fields such as Engineering or Business Administration. - Minimum 12 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in project management, preferably in the automotive industry with exposure to German OEMs like Mercedes-Benz. - Overseas work experience in EU/USA is preferred. - Demonstrated leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to manage stakeholder relationships and teams across cultures. - Strong negotiation skills, assertiveness, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic global environment. - Fluent in English; Intermediate-level German language skills are a strong advantage. - Certification such as PMP or equivalent project management certification would be beneficial for this role.
