Success in this role requires strong program management capabilities, the ability to drive execution in complex environments, and a hands-on approach to delivering measurable governance outcomes. This role is highly focused on project delivery, stakeholder coordination, and execution excellence. You will lead the implementation of governance frameworks, define and track governance KPIs, and ensure consistent adoption of data quality standards across business and functional teams. A critical priority for this role will be preparing the organization for a successful SAP S/4HANA migration. From day one, you will lead the definition and rollout of master data governance processes, ownership models, controls, and performance metrics required to support the transformation program. You will work closely with business, data, and technology teams to drive alignment, manage execution milestones, mitigate risks, and ensure readiness across impacted functions. **This position is a maternity cover role that could last for up to three years, depending on the duration of the maternity leave. If the employee returns earlier than three years, the contract will end sooner** What will you be doing: Lead and execute data governance programs across Zone Europe, ensuring alignment, delivery, and adoption across commercial and non-commercial functions. Drive the implementation of scalable data governance processes, standards, and operating routines through strong project management and cross-functional coordination. Lead workshops and stakeholder engagements to define governance requirements, align business priorities, and implement operational governance frameworks. Build and coordinate a strong network of data stewards and data owners to drive accountability, governance adoption, and best practice execution. Define and implement data quality frameworks, KPIs, controls, and reporting mechanisms to improve data reliability, transparency, and compliance across key initiatives. Oversee master data governance, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives, ensuring effective governance structures and process consistency. Lead change management, communication, and training initiatives to drive awareness, user adoption, and sustainable governance practices across the organization. Drive SAP S/4HANA readiness by coordinating SAP MDG, master data requirements, data migration activities, and process harmonization to support a successful European deployment. What you will bring: 4+ years of experience leading or supporting data governance, data management, or related transformation initiatives in complex business environments. Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive execution, manage priorities, and coordinate cross-functional teams in Agile and/or Waterfall environments. Proven ability to lead workshops, align stakeholders, and translate business requirements into actionable governance processes and operational improvements. Solid understanding of core data management disciplines, including Data Ownership, Data Quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Metadata Management, and Data Cataloguing. Strong knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance requirements, including experience embedding governance controls into business and data initiatives. Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption through change management initiatives. Experience working with project management and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or ClickUp; familiarity with SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python) is a strong plus. Fluent in English; additional European languages such as French, German, Dutch, Spanish, or Portuguese are considered an asset.
