Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Tucson Campus (K-3rd & 6th-12th Grade), 26/27 School Year

AZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award for Arizona and the 2022 YASS Prize for innovation in education and providing a transformational experience by expanding unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools. Under the supervision and direction of the Speech Language Pathologist, the SLPA will be responsible for:
Implementation of student communication strategies
Moving students toward progress on IEP goals
Tracking progress towards the goal and assisting with the completion of progress reports
Under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, the SLPA must implement goals identified on student IEPs related to Speech and Language in the areas of:
Expressive Language Skills
Receptive Language Skills
Support for students with Augmentative Communication Devices
Support classroom curriculum as it relates to language acquisition
Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions
Deliver services in a classroom integration model
Coach the classroom staff on the implementation of speech/language therapy goals
Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals
Accountability for growth and proficiency on IEP goals
Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
Provide training for new SLPAs under the guidance and supervision of the SLP
Conduct no less than 2 professional development sessions per year on sensory under the guidance and supervision of the SLP
Provide opportunities for shadowing, coaching, and modeling throughout the year for Tier 3 SLPAs that require additional support with guidance and supervision from the SLP
Regular and predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement of your position. - Complete Medicaid billing

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience delivering services in a school setting, in a classroom integration model, is preferred
Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
Minimum of two years SLPA experience in a school setting preferred
Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
