As a Business Analyst at Calix, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with engineering teams and product stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and data insights that support large-scale, data-driven platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
Partnering with product, engineering, and PLL teams to understand business objectives and translate them into well-defined functional and data requirements. - Acting as a primary business liaison for development teams, ensuring requirements are clearly articulated, documented, and understood. - Analysing complex business workflows and customer-facing scenarios and mapping them to system behaviour, data models, and reporting needs. In terms of Data Analysis & SQL, you will:
Utilize SQL as a core skill to analyse, validate, and explain data across multiple operational and analytical data stores. - Support engineering teams by validating business logic, metrics, and outputs using real data. - Perform ad-hoc and exploratory analysis to answer business questions and support decision-making. Your role will also involve Collaboration & Delivery Support, where you will:
Work closely with data engineers and developers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria. - Validate data models and reporting outputs. - Support impact analysis for new features and enhancements. - Collaborate across teams to ensure consistency between business requirements, data definitions, and system behaviour. Additionally, you will need to have a strong understanding of Domain & Compliance Awareness by:
Developing a working understanding of platforms supporting broadband and managed service providers. - Ensuring requirements and analysis consider relevant compliance, security, and audit expectations. - Supporting traceability of requirements and data for audit and governance needs. In terms of Documentation & Communication, you will:
Create and maintain clear documentation including business and functional requirements, data definitions and business rules, and analytical assumptions and validations. - Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring shared understanding and alignment. Qualifications required for this role include:
38 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role in data-driven or platform-based environments. - Strong hands-on experience with SQL for querying and analysing data. - Proven ability to work closely with engineering and data teams. - Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate business needs into data and system requirements.
