Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the initiation, planning, execution, and rollout for strategic initiatives. - Lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of multi-team, short-term, and long-term feature backlogs aligned with product and corporate vision. - Initiate and facilitate conversations across business units and departments to align strategy, roadmap, key investments, and messaging. - Build relationships with key business stakeholders, keeping them informed of important features, critical scope changes, and planned investments. - Identify and develop the next generation of product management leaders. - Provide constructive feedback on feature specifications to ensure optimal impact of new feature delivery. - Coach product managers on balancing functional and non-functional enhancements and system improvements. - Continuously enhance and improve product management processes and techniques at Appian. Qualifications Required:
Strong technical background, possibly as a former software architect or developer transitioning into a product manager role. - Demonstrated people management skills in guiding product managers to success. - Passion for backend and infrastructure technologies powering cloud-based enterprise software systems, including proprietary, open-source, and industry-standard components. - Experience with cloud native technologies and Kubernetes, particularly infrastructure behind Software-as-a-Service cloud product offerings. - Understanding of networking, cross-VPC connectivity, security, and compliance requirements for enterprise customers. - Experience with data persistence, object storage services, event streaming platforms, and multi-tenant shared services. - Experience delivering cloud infrastructure features using AWS services and a strong interest in scalability, performance, security, observability, and reliability of distributed systems. - Excellent communication skills for engaging with CxOs on high-level strategy and developers on feature details.
