Responsibilities: We are seeking a motivated individual to join the financial reporting team to support and contribute to the management and reporting of the Bank's balance sheet and Profit and Loss accounts, including Treasury Finance reporting. This includes completion of financial statements ensuring to be at its most accurate, complete and timely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting and governance frameworks. The job responsibilities include: Preparation of Technology suspense accounts. This includes liaising with account owners to ensure validity and accuracy of individual account transactions and timely capitalization of assets, monitoring cost spend against budget, accruing, calculating withholding tax and markups, invoicing and following up on cash remittance for projects carried out in London on behalf of EMEA offices. Production of daily reconciliation between Front and Back Office systems. Production of Daily Profit and Loss reports for Global Market Division. Investigation of reconciliation differences with respective areas of the bank and advising on root cause and corrective actions. Maintain Bank's fixed assets and leased assets register and prepare all related Head Office reports. This includes review of applications for system development, advising on investment vs expense treatment and monitoring the fixed assets coding in Oracle. Preparation of Bank's pension accounting journals and reporting. Monthly balance sheet controls regarding nostro accounts Preparation of monthly closing journals, ledger adjustments, analysis and reconciliations. Analyse business reports to ensure accuracy in General Ledger including accruals processing to ensure reporting within the correct accounting period. Half yearly Variable Interest Entity reporting Preparation of Financial Accounting Reports in order to support the Bank in meeting its deadlines to its various stakeholders Quarterly and semi-annual Japanese GAAP and US GAAP reporting preparation and review ensuring complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of reports and support regulator queries. Adhoc projects Mandatory skill sets: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficient with Excel/VBA, Word and Access) Good exposure to accounting software packages. Good written and verbal skills Excellent communication skills Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability A proactive, motivated approach. Years of experience required: 13years Education qualification: Experience of working in financial closing and reporting teams or a big 4 accounting firm practice, preferably with a controls and governance focus. Bachelors / Masters degree and relevant accounting qualifications.
