As an experienced and proactive Ship Spare Parts Logistics Operations Manager, your role will involve setting up, leading, and managing the operations team based in Mumbai. Your primary responsibilities will include team building, training, process improvement, and serving as the main escalation point for key customers in the region. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of Operations Executives responsible for daily shipment handling and coordination. - Provide coaching, guidance, and regular performance feedback to ensure service excellence. - Develop and implement onboarding and training programs for new and existing staff. - Act as the senior escalation contact for customers in India, ensuring timely resolution of service issues. - Oversee the full operational process including shipment bookings, documentation, customs clearance, tracking, and delivery. - Ensure compliance with global SOPs and customer-specific requirements. - Monitor and improve process efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy of shipment handling. - Liaise with global offices to ensure seamless coordination and visibility across time zones. - Provide regular reporting on team performance, customer feedback, operational KPIs, and challenges. - Participate in systems implementation and continuous improvement projects. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. - 610 years of logistics/freight forwarding experience, with at least 23 years in a managerial or supervisory role. - Strong knowledge of international shipping, air and sea freight, and customs procedures. - Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. - Proven ability to handle escalations and deliver service recovery under pressure. - Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite. - Previous experience in marine logistics is an advantage.
