Job Summary
ISC's Hospitality team is looking for a goal oriented, team player to join the team! This role is responsible for reviewing complex, high-risk insurance applications and evaluating the level of risk against established guidelines to determine eligibility for coverage. Position Responsibilities
Communicate with brokers via phone and email regarding account questions and issues
Work a blend of new and renewal business
Utilize industry knowledge, underwriting guidelines, rules, standards, and levels of authority to accept, reject, or mitigate risk for increasingly complex applications and determine appropriate premiums, limits, and coverages. - Increased level of underwriting authority and administrative processing authority. - Approve or decline insurance applications within certain limits and issue coverage and prepare referral submission for risks exceeding individual authority. - Documentation of Underwriting files, including risk analysis and pricing justification in accordance with established underwriting standards. - Utilize multiple databases to gather and verify supplementary data for submissions and leverage specialized software to compare risks, ensuring accurate policy pricing. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 3-5 years of underwriting or related insurance experience required
Ability to independently evaluate risk and make appropriate determination
Working towards Property & Casualty Brokers License, a plus
Strong customer service experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments as well as work independently
Strong desire to learn, explore new ideas, and seek out new knowledge
Ability to be flexible, embrace change, and quickly pivot in response to shifting priorities

The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits. ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
