About the role The Head of Strategic Delivery Planning & Governance is a Director‑level leadership role within Haleon's Digital & Technology (D&T) organisation, sitting in the Performance, Transformation & Delivery function. The role is accountable for ensuring D&T operates with one coherent, integrated delivery and governance model across Agile and Waterfall delivery, portfolio planning, run‑and‑maintain activity, third‑party delivery engagement, and performance reporting. It provides the connective tissue between strategy, portfolio planning, delivery execution, governance, partner oversight and leadership reporting, ensuring D&T operates as a single, controlled system rather than a collection of disconnected processes. Key responsibilities 1. Enterprise Delivery & Governance Framework Ownership Define, own and maintain Haleon's single D&T delivery and governance framework, integrating Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches. Ensure clarity on roles, decision rights, governance forums, lifecycle stages and escalation paths across D&T. Ensure governance is proportionate, outcome‑focused and enables timely decision‑making. 2. Alignment with Portfolio & Planning Partner closely with the Head of Portfolio & Planning to ensure delivery frameworks align seamlessly with portfolio management, prioritisation and investment governance. Ensure consistent lifecycle gating, artefacts and controls from idea intake through delivery and benefits realisation. Support translation of D&T strategy into executable, governed delivery plans. 3. Strategic Run & Maintain Programme Governance Design and operate a strategic Run & Maintain governance forum covering non‑transformational programmes, services and investments. Ensure run initiatives have clear objectives, business outcomes, success measures and accountable owners. Challenge investment where operational spend does not demonstrably contribute to business value, resilience or risk reduction. 4. Third‑Party Delivery Partner Governance & Oversight Own the governance model for third‑party delivery partner engagement across D&T, working in partnership with Procurement, Delivery Excellence and Supplier Performance roles. Provide strategic input into delivery partner selection, ensuring partners align to Haleon's delivery frameworks, governance standards and operating model. Ensure delivery partner performance, risks and dependencies are visible within enterprise governance and addressed through appropriate escalation and intervention. 5. Delivery Performance Reporting & Leadership Insight Ensure consistent, timely and trusted reporting of delivery performance across D&T programmes, portfolios and run activity. Define standard views, measures and narratives for reporting to the D&T Leadership Team, ExCo and senior leaders. Ensure reporting provides clear insight into progress, risks, dependencies, outcomes and required decisions — not just status. Act as the custodian of "single version of the truth" delivery performance data. 6. Business Outcomes & Value Discipline Ensure all governed initiatives — transformational and non‑transformational — are explicitly linked to defined business outcomes and benefits. Drive consistency in how outcomes, KPIs and benefits are defined, governed and reported. Enable leadership to understand trade‑offs between cost, risk, pace and value. 7. Governance Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement Continually assess and improve governance effectiveness, removing duplication, friction and non‑value‑adding forums. Ensure governance supports delivery pace while maintaining appropriate control in regulated and business‑critical areas. Act as the guardian of governance integrity and consistency across D&T. Why you? Basic Qualifications: Extensive experience in enterprise D&T planning, governance or delivery excellence roles Proven ownership of delivery and governance frameworks across Agile and Waterfall Strong understanding of portfolio management, investment governance and delivery lifecycles Experience operating in environments with significant third‑party delivery dependencies Strong experience producing executive‑level delivery performance reporting Executive‑level stakeholder engagement and decision‑support capability Preferred Qualifications: Experience in large‑scale, complex or regulated organisations Background in transformation, delivery excellence or enterprise portfolio roles Strong commercial and partner governance awareness Experience operating Run‑the‑Business governance models Job Posting End Date 2026-06-30 Equal Opportunities Haleon are committed to mobilising our purpose in a way that represents the diverse consumers and communities who rely on our brands every day.
