As a Principal AI Research Scientist specializing in Computer Vision at our client, you will be responsible for driving foundational research and developing novel AI models and algorithms in the field of computer vision. Your role will involve leading research initiatives, mentoring junior scientists, and collaborating with product teams to translate research breakthroughs into impactful solutions. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and conduct cutting-edge research in computer vision, focusing on areas such as object detection, image segmentation, image generation, video analysis, 3D reconstruction, and generative models. - Develop novel algorithms and deep learning architectures to address complex computer vision challenges. - Publish research findings in leading academic conferences and journals. - Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype, test, and deploy AI models into production systems. - Mentor and guide junior research scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific rigor. - Identify emerging trends and opportunities in AI and computer vision relevant to the company's strategic goals. - Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance and robustness of AI models. - Contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio through patent applications. - Stay abreast of the latest academic research and industry advancements in AI and computer vision. - Present research findings and technical strategies to internal stakeholders and at external forums. - Define research roadmaps and project priorities in alignment with business objectives. Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. - Minimum of 8+ years of post-Ph.D. research experience in computer vision, demonstrating a strong publication record in top-tier venues. - Deep expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX. - Proficiency in programming languages like Python and C++. - Strong theoretical understanding and practical experience with various computer vision tasks and algorithms. - Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training environments. - Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor team members. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. - Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. - Experience in areas like generative adversarial networks (GANs), diffusion models, or transformers for vision tasks is highly desirable. - Prior industry research experience is a significant advantage.
