Support HALO’s GEM in implementing HALO’s Environmental Management System across HALO programmes, in line with IMAS 07.13
Support HALO’s GEM in rolling out environmental screening across HALO’s programmes, including establishing data collection workflows and monitoring
Contribute to development of HALO’s environmental tools and systems, including training resources and MEAL. ## Proposal development and support
Support programmes in thematic proposal content, ensuring environmental sustainability is integrated and budgeted for
Assist in development of environmental project concept notes and proposals
Monitor HALO’s main donor base and collate environmental priorities and obligations
Support donor reporting on carbon and sustainability commitments
Relevant academic qualification in environmental management, environmental science, or a closely related discipline
Knowledge of greenhouse gas/emissions baselining processes, including data requirements and recognised methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol)
Practical experience supporting organisational environmental management, including contributing to or operating within environmental standards (e.g., ISO 14001, IMAS 07.13 or equivalent). - Strong understanding of environmental compliance and safeguards within humanitarian, development, or donor-funded programmes. - Proven experience working in field operations in mine action, humanitarian or post-conflict settings. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical environmental concepts clearly to non-specialists. - Strong data handling, analytical, and reporting skills. - Willingness to undertake international travel, including to challenging environments, as required. ## Desirable Requirements
Demonstrated experience conducting emissions baselines for organisations or large operational portfolios. - Experience developing carbon-reduction plans or resource-efficiency strategies, particularly in operational or humanitarian contexts. - Good knowledge of and proven professional experience within the mine action sector. - Experience developing environmental content for donor proposals, concept notes, or programme designs. - Experience delivering capacity-building or training on environmental or sustainability topics. - Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across geographically dispersed programmes. ## Travel Requirements
Minimum of 10-15 weeks travel per year depending on programme needs and availability of funding. ## Benefits
