Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy construction equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize downtime
- Complete preventive maintenance to improve reliability and equipment life
- Repair or replace defective components in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Coordinate with site supervisors on scheduled and emergency repairs
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations
- Order and manage tools and replacement parts as needed
- Utilize CAT SIS and ET systems (preferred)
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or related field
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmissions
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (CDL Class B preferred)
- Willingness to travel, including frequent overnight stays
- Physically capable of performing field repairs in varying weather and job site conditions
- Vocational or technical school training preferred
- Relevant certifications a plus
- Possess or willing to obtain a DOT medical card
- Welding experience is a plus
