You will play a crucial role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the product development team of a high-growth, Pre-Series A funded EV infrastructure startup based in Bengaluru, India. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design of the next-generation EV charging hardware, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the products. **Key Responsibilities:**
**Product Design & Enclosure Engineering:**
Lead the mechanical design of EV chargers using SolidWorks/Creo software. - Select appropriate materials for harsh environmental conditions like UV, heat, and rain. - Design IP-rated enclosures (IP65/67) with advanced sealing solutions. - Optimize designs for cost-efficient mass production. - **Thermal & Structural Simulation:**
Conduct FEA for stress analysis, impact resistance, and bolted joints. - Design Thermal Management Systems for handling high-power electronics. - Utilize simulation data to optimize product weight without compromising structural safety. - **Prototyping & Vendor Management:**
Coordinate with vendors for Sheet Metal fabrication, CNC machining, and Injection Molding. - Oversee prototype assembly and conduct rigorous physical testing. - Identify and rectify design flaws during testing phases. - **Documentation & Compliance:**
Maintain detailed BOM, technical drawings, and design reports. - Ensure compliance with Indian and International safety standards for EV infrastructure. **Required Qualifications & Skills:**
Education: B.E/B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. - Experience: 5-8 years in mechanical design, preferably in Electronics, Automotive, or Energy sector. - Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Sheet Metal design and fabrication techniques. - Software: Expertise in SolidWorks or Creo. - Simulation: Experience in FEA and Thermal Simulation tools. - Domain Knowledge: Understanding of IP-rated enclosure design and DFM/DFA principles. **Preferred Skills:**
Familiarity with PCB thermal packaging. - Previous experience in the EV or Renewable Energy industry. - Exposure to automotive environmental testing standards. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on patented technology that is shaping the future of Indian mobility. You will directly collaborate with the Founders and CTO, gaining high visibility within the organization. As the company scales from Pre-Series A to Series A, you will have the chance to lead a team and contribute to its growth and success.
