AZACS was awarded the 2023/2024 National ESEA Distinguished Schools Award for Arizona and the 2022 YASS Prize for innovation in education and providing a transformational experience by expanding unique individualized learning programs for autism charter schools. Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Director of Special Education, the OT responsibilities include: ● Assessment and implementation of students' occupational therapy needs ● All record-keeping related to each student assigned to the therapist ● Supervision of COTA staff ● Engage in data-driven instruction ● Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
Duties:
● Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs ● Supervise, mentor, and support COTA; train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to:
fine motor skills life skills/training psychosocial adaptations sensory processing/adaptations visual motor skills
● Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions ● Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model ● Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families ● Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals and Student Digital Portfolios ● Maintain timely and accurate Medicaid Billing ● Accountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goals ● Participate in annual and ongoing staff training ● Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs ● Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services

Minimum Qualifications:
● Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model is preferred ● Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance ● Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills ● Minimum of two years OT experience in a school setting preferred ● Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred ● Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
